Into the Silver Screen: Monsters University

Title: Monsters University
Genre: Disney-Pixar Animation
Topbilled by: Billy Crystal and John Goodman
Date: June 29, 2013

Yep, this is a late post. *still sighing*
This was the second movie that night and we almost didn't make it. Like me and TJ literally ran out of the cinema after watching World War Z for us to catch the first part of this movie, amazing race mode. Fortunately, we had the greatest timing and we also did enjoy the cute short film at the beginning.

This sequel to Monsters Inc. took 12 years to make. Yes, 12 LONG years. Imagine, I was high school back then. Actually, this was not a sequel...but a prequel before the ho-ha happened in Monsters Inc. How Sulley and Mike met. That was the heart of the story. It had all the elements of a Disney-Pixar film minus the traditional Disney singing characters of course. The humor is off the charts at least for me and I would say I'm biased though. I think this is a feel good movie that would be best watched with the family or with friends.
me and my brother TJ

One thing though, I hope Disney-Pixar would make a "The Incredibles" sequel, but I do wish that it wouldn't take them 12 years or more to conceptualize a solid plot. Though it would've been 10 years next year since the first movie. *sigh*

Till the next flick...

Into the Silver Screen: World War Z

Title: World War Z
Genre: Action, Zombie flick
Topbilled by: Brad Pitt
Date: June 29, 2013

Another late post. *sigh*
We watched this as a marathon with my brother TJ, braving our way through the Glorietta cinema. Yes, I wasn't exaggerating when I say the lines were long. The lines were REALLY long. After almost an hour in line, squirming if they still have slots left for us...finally, we could begin our back to back movie marathon. Back-to-back meaning 2 movies in one night. Cool.

I liked this movie. The zombies were extra creepy considering they do not just walk out in the sunlight, they are jumpers and they can think a bit too! Sometimes, I wonder what the world would be like if there would be a zombie apocalypse. I know this sounds too morbid but in a parallel universe, it could be true. Maybe I'll just lie and wait for them to devour me or I could be like those zombie killers, that would be cool. Either way, my instinct to survival will be put to the test.

Till the next flick...

Into the Silver Screen: Man of Steel

Title: Man of Steel
Genre: DC Superhero, Action
Topbilled by: Henry Cavill and Amy Adams
Date: June 18, 2013

And for this late post. Really? Anyway...
I always was biased towards this DC comic hero. And I really liked Clark Kent more when I started to watch "Lois and Clark, the new adventures of Superman" almost 15 years ago (Yep, Dean Cain~~). I was always aware of the 'Superman curse', all of the movies didn't hit the box office and mostly their high profile careers end there; maybe with the exception of the most popular Superman -> Christopher Reeve, (I didn't even watch Brandon Routh's version) but surprisingly this did. Also, I found it quite intriguing that all chosen actors to play this superhero must be good-looking...not that I'm complaining *wink*

Oh, Henry Cavill...you are a feast for the eyes (another crush has emerged)....You could even portray Christian Grey. ^^

Back to the movie...even though I was mostly distracted by his looks (really now?)..I believe the plot concentrated on Kal-el's journey and Krypton's past. It focused on where he came from. The cinematography was dark that I was wondering if Tim Burton had a hand in this but then realized that it was Nolan...so okay. The story line was a bit out there and I was disappointed that Lois Lane knew Clark Kent's secret identity even before he joined The Daily Planet. I don't know if this is one of DC's confusing alternate universes. What I was familiar was, Lois didn't like Clark at first and she was bragging about her crush with Superman. Oh well. That aside, I will be waiting for the sequel (if they have plans to have one) and THE Justice League movie.

watched the last full show with my friend Arian at Glorietta

Justice League please.
